CFB Trenton Wing Commander charged with 2 murders

Postby Triniman on Mon Feb 08, 2010 1:38 pm

"Police announced that Russell Williams, 46, has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder along with two counts of forcible confinement and two counts of break and enter and sexual assault.

Earlier Monday, police were seen cordoning off a property on Cosy Cove Lane, a site that is reportedly close to where Llloyd's body was found. The registered owner of the home is listed as Col. Russ Williams, the base commander at CFB Trenton."

HOw do the actions of someone accused of crimes like these go completely unnoticed by the military. Don't tell me no one noticed this guy was a pyscho. How many other women have been victimized by this alleged creep. How about the female staff he isn't accused of murdering!

You think the military tracks your every movement? You don't rise to the rank of Colonel, and be a base commander and have accusations of misconduct on your record. This man was slated to be a general. I think there is more than meets the eye here. Unfortunately the media and the OPP have been mum on their evidence and circumstance.

But we all know that the police never make mistakes, this would be a pretty big one if they did.

Apparently the military police were involved in this arrest along with the OPP and local police. It wasn't just a civilian operation.

I agree with Stonekiller though, this guy would not have reached the level he did with any hints of misconduct. If he's found guilty, then he's hidden his true nature very well for a long time now.

I thought he had a few incidents of assault in his past, but that could just be rumour. I'm sure if it's true it will come out in his trial, or at least I hope it does.

To answer Northenders question/comment, the military may truly not have known. They may have known, I have no clue. But just think of the high profile serial murderers/rapists who covered their tracks for a long, long time. Plus there's some jerks in the military (as in most large organizations) that just have an aggressive personality but would never assault anyone or go so far as to murder anyone so even if someone does show aggressive personality it may in some cases be determine what is over the line and what is showing leadership.
