    Hey all -

I'm new in town and I'd like to get a regular (say at least weekly) fixed gear ride going starting in the Spring.

Nothing brutal; maybe 35-50K to start. I wouldn't object to beers at the end.

    Anyone interested?

what is a fixed gear ride?

Basically a bike for track (velodrome) riding. One gear, direct drive, and no brakes if you like to live dangerously. Used to be recommended (back in my days when dinos walked the earth) for developing "souplesse" in your pedalling for early spring rides. I rode one all winter to U of M one year. Interesting with slick tires on ice. If your a keen bikie Mybabas, go to Lifesport on Pembina Hwy and ask Walter to show you his Robin's Egg Blue Poghliaghi.

Dangerous is right. I just about killed myself the first time I rode one. Definitely not for a novice rider.

This was the last post on page 72, and it was so lonely , been back there almost 2 years, so I thought that I would bring it back up for a breather!

It hasn't lost any of its insignificance at all!

    Isn't that amazing?

Al Golden might donate to this!
