Found this in Time magazine, July 21, 2008 Edition- I just signed up for 52 weeks at $25.00 Seemed to cheap to pass up.

    - upholding American ideals makes us better citizens
    - dissent isn't unpatriotic- (that's a really good one)
    - "I love my country right or wrong". This leads to the delusion that our way of life is the right way for all of the world .
    - Patriotism is what kept the media from questioning plans for invading Iraq, as well as legislators from voting against authorizing the invasion. We tend to excuse our past mistakes and continue to make them over and over.
    - a brand of arrogance toward and ignorance of other nations.

Time, right after 9/11, was among the quickest to jump on the pro-war bomb everybody bandwagon.

They had a whole freakin' issue about it, for cripes sakes, full of "righteous war" commentary.

So they haven't improved much since then, I gather?

time magazine is annoying because the editions here are infused with Canadian content.
I prefer Newsweek, although they've swung hard left with the newest editor. The only right wing voices that "balance" out the coverage are Robert Samuelsson, George Will, and sometimes Christopher Hitchens. Fareed Zakaria is a centrist, and he even helps tilt them right.
