I thought it rained like every other day that year. I think the reasons that most areas outside the city had no skeeters that year was because of his laraciding program. AHEM!!!!

They dont larvacide 150K outside the city

I was all over southern MB that year and the skeeters were pretty much gone everywhere. Including places where no larvaciding or fogging was done.

I'd have to agree with Dean on this one.
There is no way the city is going to spray outside its limits, unless the province orders it to.

I remember a few mozzieless summers - like last year. What was the common theme? No rain.

There has to be some way to kill the mossies! They are horrible.

Put the mosquito on a flat piece of wood, and then hit the mosquito with a hammer!

    That works!

The only other thing that works is no rain, because they need standing water to hatch.

If we could put Winnipeg on a hill then we wouldn't have mosquitoes!

That is what Calgary did with their new stadium money, and rapid transit money, years ago!

I went to Headlingly last night and I could not believe how many mosquitos there were! Where I live near downtown there are hardly any. It made me realize how much difference the fogging must make. It is probably because there's more grass (ie larger lots) out in the country so you get more mosquitos but I can't imagine it being just that.

Those mosquitoes in Headingly were serving two years less a day.
