Why would you buy it back? Seems counter-productive to me.
  2.
Then you have it.. if you leave your bike and the person at the pawn shop gets suspicious your bike will 'mysteriously' have disappeared or 'someone just bought it!' Or if you get a proper receipt with serial number (check its the correct serial #) threaten to call the cops if you don't get your money back you just paid??? Not something I would advise but I bet it would work.

All you have to do is call them the police and tell them you were given info your bike could be in the shop, you would like them to check it out you have to have a serial #. They can and will check out his inventory they found mine that way 3 yrs ago. O Alex that is called service .

I agree Freakygirl, never call the pawn shops calling 'theft'.. they don't react well.

However if you saw it at the pawn shop on sale, you can just call the police and report it. Even if it takes months for them to get back to you, they can still sift through the pawn shop's intake receipts.

I wouldn't know what proper service is from the city.

No doubt you get fast service.. because you talk to the Police Chief on a regular basis right?
    :P

Get your bike registered with the Police. Mine was returned to me a year after it was stolen.

Does anyone remember "Jack Disaster"? He used to repair bikes in the Exchange district.
