Amazing vocals, k.d. and her slick loungy band received four standing ovations and apart from playing several originals, they played covers by Neil Young (Helpless), Jane Siberry, Leonard Cohen and Tony Bennett that she recorded with him.
The only criticism that I have is for the sameness of the tempo which was characterized by too many ballads and semi-ballads. She received a ton of applause for the uptempo Miss Chatelaine and Constant Craving, from Ingenue, her biggest album.
She joked with the audience and seemed quite affable and at ease, despite pointing to her failing or faulty vocal monitor several times, which never seemed to get fixed.
She's not everyone's cup of tea, but can she sing.

Would make for an interesting "real life" show to lock them all in an apartment in the exchange and see who snaps first.</blockquote>The first to snap would be a toss up between Mariah and Britney.</blockquote>I'd say Britney outlasts them all, considering she's already coo coo.
kd lang is a great singer, but I definitely miss her country days. She was such a breath of fresh air when she arrived on the scene in the late 80s. I bought her tapes when I was just a little kid, and I still listen to them every now and then. It's a wonder they haven't worn out.
I have some of her more recent stuff and she obviously hasn't lost a step when it comes to her vocals, but damn it I wish she'd do one more country album!
