Nothing beats a simple soft serve dipped cone.

you have to try it with chocolate sprinkles instead of the chocolate dip...its like comparing melted cheese and crispy fried melted cheese

I agree with Jimmytufish. I don't really find there to be much of a difference at all between ice cream shops, whether they're chains or independents. Like sputnik, I am partial to soft serve cones, although I could go either way on the dip.

    Mouse, can you eat Sorbeto?

As for my favorite, go to Eva's Gelato and get Dulce de leche

Di Nardi's greatly expanded their selection of sorbets when they remodelled and enlarged the premises. A much larger seating area was added as well. I haven't had a chance to sample any of it yet, but I'm sure I will before the summer is over.

Did you try the link, StB? I had to close the window fast before I started licking the screen.
Is this the ice cream place that was featured on Oprah recently?

    Overpriced ice cream.

Basically $7 for someone else to mash m&m's into your ice cream.

Sub Zero has gone downhill and the prices way up since Nina and her family sold it a few years back. Since then I think the place has changed hands at least 3 times in less than 5 years.

lol....We tried it yesteday. Its good...almost good enough to make me forget that we dropped over $14.00 for 2 ice cream cones. (I had the Peanut Butter Crunch -Chocolate Swiss with Reese’s® Peanut Butter Cup & Nestle Crunch® with a waffle cone that was dipped in dark chocolate & rolled in crushed Butterfinger chocolate bar). But I guess its like pizza you can get cheap pizza (pizza hotline) or you can get overpriced pizza (gondolas) whatever floats your boat. I don't mind paying a premium if I know I will be fully satisfied (my shirt was satisfied too as I dripped ice cream all over it). That being said I'll still probably be going to BDI more often than Marble Slab.

Yes, and it took me to their website. Does that mean Costco stocks all their products?

I think there's some confusion here. I interpreted it as 'by' as in 'near', not 'by' as in 'this a product that Costco is providing'.

Nina was awesome! The whole family was pretty cool. When I was a kid she named an ice cream cone after me, it was even mentioned in the Free Press. I still have the article somewhere. The old lady that works there now seems to have something against Nina, she always runs her down when her name is brought up. Still good ice cream though.

Does Sub Zero still sell doggy treats? I bought one for my 10 year old cousin when I was 14 and he actually ate it, dog cookie and all:)

Posted By: cj3470I'm not big on ice cream, but I used to go to the Spaghetti Factory just so I could have Spumoni Ice Cream for dessert. I haven't been in a long time, I wonder if they still serve it?
Yep, was there a couple of months ago, and had spumoni ice cream for dessert!
