I listened. I also read about what happened recently. I'd still buy a house in the area despite the blip in crime. I will not let a few idiots scare me away from that area.
House prices have risen in the North End, so I doubt if a "blip" on Corydon is going to sway anyone, except people looking to raise a young family. A few drive by shootings, random stabbings would be required before people became seriously put off.
I did a bit of research on Bova and found he is a well respected businessman. Perhaps the attack on an well respected businessman in a busy restaurant and nightclub area, in the daylight hours, is not worthy of investigation by the news media. As far as I know this story is getting no followup treatment.
I've lived here only for a short while and even I know who Joe Bova is and who are his friends. I'm sure many people respect him as a business man but I'm sure there are lots of people who don't like him for may reasons. And Freep publishes info that victim isn't a gang member...yep...not a mad cowz member.
What I heard was that first two guys jumped him, somebody went to help him and then six asians jumped out of a van. I don't know about beating with baseball bats.
From what I've heard, the victim isn't talking. Therefore, no charges pressed, no media interviews, no detailed account of the attach. So no news to report.
