Jeunes Patriotes du Quebec had an online poll as a sarcastic commentary to the CBC's search for the greatest Canadian. Trudeau, Dion, Chretian, Don Cherry, Mordecai Richler were all in the running.
Quebec joined Confederation to be a province of Canada, part of a greater entity. I would wager that Fathers of Confederation who brought Quebec into Canada are spinning dervishly in their collective graves!! I'm not racist, but I sure as heck don't like politics!!
By the way, and this point was just brought up by my future son-in-law: Why did the National Assembly of Quebec deny the natives living in Quebec, the right to vote in the referendum to stay or leave Confederation? You talk, wolfboy, about racists in Manitoba: what about the Separatists who are treating First Nations peoples like 5th class citizens?
Take a look at the major conflicts in Canada between First Nation People and White Folk: most of the potentially violent clashes are within Quebec.
wolfboy, I ask you respectfully, take a better look around at the total history of Canada? The biggest bunch of rabble-rousers are in the Quebec National Assembly.
Before you can vote on the greatest traitor to Quebec, you must first nominate someone.
I left Quebec back in 1977, after living there for 7 yrs. Never did pick up the french language because I knew even then that I'd be coming back to Canada.
So nominate me if you wish, I'll stand proudly stating for all to hear: "I AM CANADIAN!"

Oh so sorry wolfboy...it seems I am unable to keep up with you and your intellect....maybe if I was a leftie I'd be better qualified to keep up. ;)

LOL, Never said he was my hero! I just get mad when people bad mouth someone they have no frigging idea what they did or did not do.
My hero's were my 2 grandfathers who fought in WW1 and WW2, My uncle who volunteered for the RAF in WW2 and spent the entire war over seas. My Hero's are the brave men and women who gave their lives so that I could be on these forums posting my thoughts and beliefs without fear.

Credibility is generally earned over time and I've learned in my short time participating on this space that some folks actually do know what they are talking about. They bring a certain amount of credibility with them to most of their posts. They are also wont to accept others opinions over their own and admit another's position might be valid. Maybe the benefit of the doubt is an approach...

Meh. I could give a rip about political stripe. Like I said, cheerleading is for sports teams, and global affairs are a bit more complicated than that.
I know lots of stupid lefties, and lots of stupid righties. I also know lots of smart, intelligent, compassionate people on either side of the political spectrum, and don't feel that good ideas, or good leadership, are the exclusive property of either.
