I'll get back to you with some information for sure, and do some more research on the subject of age difference. I do have some contacts in the Medical field.

    May take a couple days.

Ok, I have a few responses from some Drs. : as the male and female couple advance in age, the incidents of possible birth "defects" increases due to the "breakdown of genetic material" ( don't blame me on that phrase ok?) When asked about the possibility of possible "defects" should the parents are further and further apart in actual age: the answer was yes, just because one of the partners is younger, there is still a risk of birth "defects" because of the "advanced" age of either one of the partners. The Doctors were not able to give me statistics, but that's the gist of what they told me.

Still, it's also the morality of the situation that bothers me. How would you feel if your 16 year old daughter was being seduced by a 50 year old man? What would you do?
I'd be having a sit-down with the pervert; explaining the consequences to him in graphic terms: namely the high probability of his being incarcerated in a max-security facility in with general population! The charges would be gross indecency with a side order of molestation!

Hey. Relax. I didn't know she was your daughter, and besides, she told me she was 18.

My daughters have more sense, more brains, and are older than 18, in fact, possibly more maturity than most.

I like my girlfriends to be middle-aged...15 or 16 18 or 19. But that's just me.

I thought you had some strange ideas, but not this strange, I'm coming up 52 and won't even consider anyone below 40!!

Does that make you, considering your age preferences: a pervert?

well obviously jimmy is joking.. or the muse would kill him... but seriously what is the problem with an age difference of 2110 years? As long as the younger person is making thier choices and is mature enough to do so... where is the problem?

Okay Celine Dion, and Ms. Twain... obviously their choices were heavily influenced improperly... but for most folk... who do NOT marrying their boss..what the problem?
  4.
    I am/was joking.

I'm a guy that believes in keeping my nose out of what goes on between two (or more) consenting adults. The problem I have, is the "consenting" and the "adult" parts. I think it's abhorrent of an older man to take advantage of a young girl. Period.

I find it sick that old men kick hundreds of teenage boys out of the colony so that they can have more teenage girls to themselves.

    No less disturbing......

The old men are perverts, the young fellows go off and establish their own communities and corrupt yet another colony of young ladies.

Time for the mainstream Mormons to bring these wayward offshoot cults back into the 20th century.

Wasn't it the original founder of the CLDS that started this outrageous behavior way back in the pioneer days? Seems he got rid of the younger fellows with the good-looking wives by sending them out on "hunting expeditions" so they'd be killed off by the local natives. Then he had free rein with the now-widowed ladies. All of this because of a "Revelation" from God.

Several years later, another "prophet" declared another "revelation" and called of the practice of polygamy.

But there are some throwbacks who just won't listen with their heads, and think they're still in the 17th century......

Charge them all with child molestation, lock them up, and teach the rest to join in with the 20th Century.

    IMHO!

The problem is in the minds of the "holier than thou", crew who believe that an age differance means anything to anyone! I believe that "consenting adults" is the key, and that is further mucked up when it is part of one's religious upbringing!
All this crap about 50 year olds preying on 16 year olds is just that- "crap".
This is a religion and you better stay away from it, or else make sure that the "sex police" have it right!

I would love to be practising Law in Texas, with the recent court decision regarding the 463 "children" removed from their parents homes.

The children's aid better get about $463,000,000 dollars ready for the court cases that are about to start there.

Dumb ass civil servants went in on a complaint that wasn't bona-fide!

I'll repeat my question to all of you: Would you stand for your 14 to 16 yr old daughter being wooed by a man over 40 yrs of age?

Here is my answer: " ETHEL, GET MY GUN!! "

Now if only I had one!

I do now have granddaughters, and as the patriarch of my family, I have the obligation to try and guide all of my offspring as best I can.
I have been asked for their advice; and when asked I give from the bottom of my heart, and my experience.
My children know that I'd NEVER touch their children inappropriately, so they trust me highly. But bring any Mormon around here and I will ask them quietly to leave the property, as I do not agree with their views.

It is their religious upbringing that seems foreign to us!
Who are we to judge what they believe??

You can criticize every religion on something that does not seem right to you, but it does not seem right, only in context to what you were taught!

That is why we have freedom of religion, and the police , and the crown prosecutors, wouldn't go near this issue with a 10 foot pole because, and they have had this assessed already, they would not be successful!

"Your 14 year old" is not part of this religious group! I believe that if there was a religious group that believed in 4 wives or 4 husbands per family, that would not be illegal.
The religious group in B.C., that was persecuted 100 years ago, simply live common-law with multiple wives, and nothing is done! A very simple solution to our holier-than-though, typical conservative "laws" that mean nothing.
