I have noticed some inconsistencies related to storage and management of cookies and related data, but have as yet not had the opportunity to troubleshoot further.
I have a question. I just "logged in" without logging in. Let me explain.
Last week I logged in for the first time in a long time (I am growing to like the new site by the way). Anyway, my user name and password from the old site worked fine so I was able to log in.
Today, I was checking out the "about us" section of the site. I clicked on the "application form" link, then hit the back button since I already have an account and I did not intend to log on or comment on anything today and to my surprise when I came back to the discussion section I was logged in? And yet, I was never asked for my password.
I am on my personal laptop (the same laptop I logged in on last week) but if I had logged in from a public computer or a computer at work, would I or anyone else have been able to log in under my name just as easily by clicking the application form?
Thats the way the cookie crumbles. When you logged on from your laptop last week, NW placed a cookie on your laptop. Now unless you manually log out, or delete your cookies, NW will see that cookie and recognize you are still logged in. Anyone who uses your laptop to come here, will experience the same effect.
[cite] zander:[/cite]Since Saturday, the site doesn't seem to recognize cookies. I have to keep logging in every time, even if I click the "Remember Me" box.
I've already checked the settings on my computer, and it's happening both at home and at work. Is it only me? If not, what's up with that?
Me too.
In fact, is anyone who is having this problem NOT on MTS?
It just dawned on me now that some MTS customers have dynamic IP addresses - that is to say that your IP address changes all the time. This may be why you are logged out every few hours.
