NIN tickets go on sale Friday.
  1.
If you register at NIN.com you can buy at 5:00 today. (I'm counting down)

I think the amount of concerts rolling through Winnipeg has more to do with keeping that business known as the MTS centre busy more than anything. The team wasn't focused on doing that in the Winnipeg arena days. I can't wait to see BOSTON in June at the MTS centre.....3rd row, I have been wanting to see them for years.

You can also download the new cd for free. I just did and it sounds pretty good.

Yeah great. I spend just over $150 on two tickets and we both get a free download. ;(

I figure NIN is an acquired taste. I'm looking forward to the concert.

I'm going to be on the GA floor for this one...

Has anyone seen the new additions to the Folk Festival lineup? Incredible.

Jakob Dylan, Kathleen Edwards, and the big one: Ray Davies (Kinks front man and main songwriter). I have been a huge Kinks fans for about 20 years, and have been dying to see them (or solo Ray) play. Forget about the fact that the Kinks haven't done anything that great in about 30 years; their classics are among the best of the British-Invasion-era pop songs.

Ray will be closing the Sunday evening show. I'm incredibly pumped. The FF lineup has gone from mediocre to fantastic.

I hope you realize Boston's singer, Brad Delp, died a few months ago. The singer you will see fronting Boston now is Michael Sweet from Stryper. (Don't know Stryper's current status, i.e., will he be singing for both bands?)

No concert this year, MTS Centre or otherwise, will be better than the Ace Frehley concert at the Garrick.

And while I'm here, check out some hot rockin' tunes from Winnipeg's hottest rock star, Kelly Fairchild, including "Pam Anderson," about.....you guessed it, Pamela Anderson! Click: http://www.myspace.com/kellyfairchildstarland

Anyone take in the Killswitch Engage show last night? I think this was their second time here.

The crowd was well-behaved, but I did notice a couple of guys forceably removed from the pit by security. I didn't get a good look at what they were doing. One of opening bands commented on how they thought the first ejected fan was just trying to move around in the circle. The Garrick has a much larger floor for that sort of thing.

Other than that, the crowd seemed to really enjoy the show.

I had to miss yesterday's Christian McBride show and tonight's Coheed & Cambria gig.

Anyone take either of these in?

Nope, can't say either of them. Here's what's on the horizon for me:

The Last Waltz at the WECC this weeekend
    Islands at the WECC
    Iron Maiden at MTS Centre
    Constantines at the Pyramid
    Grande Mothers at the Pyramid
    Scout Niblet at the Pyramid
The Hold Steady at the Fargo Theatre

Plus the Folk Festival and Mark Knopfler at the Concert Hall
