Did anyone catch the tv news report comment that she was flown back by private jet. The jet cost $5500.00 per hour

Yea it is a Challenger owned by the Federel Goverment which brought back a goverment offical and documents from the Embassy staff Probaly raise requests . The cost is probaly not anymore than flying the press around with the Prime Minister on a big Airbus 380 cost $$$ dollars an hour . Yes she did get abit demanding but at least the Mexicans saved face and looked like they did something. Jimmy or any of you it would be interesting to hear your take if it were your relative .

Hopefully, some one in my family would be smart enough and have enough integrity not to get involved in a pyramid investment scheme.
And if they did, and if they were convicted, just like Brenda Martin, i would support them by whatever means I could. But other than that, I'm not sure I understand the point of your question?

How do you know she was involved the Canadians and the Americans are not going after her are they ,if I was an American who was ripped off I would .
2.
She was convicted by a Mexican court. Like it or not, thats how it works. I believe her guilt has already been established.

Her guilt is very much in question, there is much more to be learned, methinks.

Hey she was a bit of a b//// in the end but can't say if I hadn't walked 2 yrs in her shoes what I would be like . Whatever she is back and probably will stay here for good.

Now maybe we've heard the last of Brenda Martin, other than the book. Who says crime doesn't pay?
4.
She was charged by the Mexican government with fraud. She was tried in a Mexican court and found guilty. She was sentenced to five years in prison. The Government of Canada bent over backwards for this woman. The Government of Canada, meaning you and I, spent untold tens of thousands of hard-earned taxpayer money to hold her hand, and to fly her home. A week in jail here and she is paroled.

I do not question her guilt. This has been a load of crap from the instant it became public.

My feelings are that this started out to be an attempt by the Liberals to put Harper in a bad light. First it was that murderer in Montana, and when that didn't really work out, they jumped on this Martin bullshit.

If you look back on the way this developed, one can see clearly how the Conservatives were reluctant to get involved until those jerk-offs kept up pressure to react.

When you look at the Liberal record on crime, this is no surprise. It is always about the criminal and never about the victim(s).

[end of rant];)

Posted By: cancelbotMan, you guys are bitter.
Why bitter? I'm pissed to be sure. Perhaps it is the aging process???
7.
Pissed off would be a better term.
8.
No, I'm fine with bitter. I'm bitter that so much of my money was spent on a convicted criminal, and it had nothing to do with justice, just petty party politics.

Compare the LIberals to the Conservatives:

Liberals are angels in heaven,

Conservatives are as corrupt as can be, amazing that most haven't been seen roasting over open fires.

Exactly Grumpy! I remember griping and whining just as much with the Liberals as I am with the PC Party. There is no real difference anymore, the old adage too many cooks spoil the soup holds very true here.

Or is that too many crooks spoil the soup??

We are so lucky to have Stephen Harper, in control, as he is the most honourable, honest politician that we have had , in power.
All the criticism is unwarranted, and has to stop, immediately!
People on newwinnipeg.com have no clue when they criticise Harper! He gets those reports and sends out the RCMP with the faulty taser guns!
