Posted By: TheDogI was in LA a few years ago. I accidentally wandered into a rough area. Gang Territory where the kids put bullets in you just for fun, and the panhandlers don’t want your money, but your liver or heart.
Out of nowhere a cop car with flashing lights pulled over. The cop said they were monitoring me via their street camera’s and it was clear that I was a tourist and that I was lost, and in the worst part of the downtown, and that I should turn around.
I am glad they stopped me.

Its fortunate that there were police surveillance cameras in that dangerous area and that the police saw you & stopped you from entering the worst part of town. Interesting that although the area was monitored by police cameras, the area was still considered to be the worst part of town and so dangerous that you should not be there. Kind of a telling sign about how "effective" surveillance cameras are at making crime riddled neighborhoods safer.
"The body scanners are reminiscent out of something you’d see in the science fiction film Total Recall. The difference between the body scanners in Total Recall and the body scanners being deployed in real life is that the body scanners in Total Recall are actually less intrusive. The real life body scanners are a complete invasion of privacy and actually reveal a person’s naked body when they go through the scanners"

CommentAuthorMR_Point CommentTimeApr 10th 2008 ThanksReport Postquote walked passed the survalance camera place today and one of the nieghbors put a sheet of plywood threating to sue if the cameras are taken down and if anyone takes photos of their property blah blah blah they were staring out the window at me as i read it so i did not snap a pic........
I heard there was allegedly a meth lab brewing inside and it exploded. The cameras in question were located on the opposite side of the street pointing at this house, and were the subject of some media coverge earlier in the year. The couple involved moved out after some suggestions of invasion of privacy, beyond surveillance.
Hard to say what caused this, but probably not related to surveillance cameras. But you never know. Certainly there was a massive explosion in the house.
