How can you say such a thing spiddy? Hot 103 ONLY plays artists that are on the top 40, are marketed as going to be on the top 40, or were once on the top 40.

Allow me to enlighten you, cappo. I'm Rick Baverstock, Station Manager at 92.9 KICK-FM. Not only does Marty have my support, but he has the support of the President of the College, and the members of our board.
Marty Gold is not about to be fired from KICK-FM. As the one who is charged with making such a decision, I would know if his termination is imminent. It's not. His work provides a genuine alternative to other media in the city, he does an excellent job training students who want to work in commercial talk broadcasting, and he enlightens his listeners with information about their hometown they would be hard-pressed to find elsewhere on the dial. This station and the institution behind it are not about to cut him loose because you and/or your co-horts are personally pissed at him.
For the rest of you reading this discussion, allow me to shed some light on this (Readers Digest-style). Marty once did a talk show on FLAVA, a station with the exact same license as KICK-FM. Flava was so poorly run that the fate of their license is now up-in-the-air, and the station is off-the-air. While working at FLAVA, Marty noticed MANY flagrant breaches of their license and, oh yeah, they didn't pay him the money owing to him for doing his job. This seemed to happen with a lot of their "employees". Marty brought these matters to the attention of the CRTC, and has every right to do so as a citizen of Canada, and the CRTC agreed that the station was being operated incorrectly as per the license (hence the recent hearing where all involved with FLAVA were grilled by the Commission for nearly NINE hours).
The people involved with FLAVA - instead of concentrating on satisfying their license and running the station properly - blame Marty for all their woes and post comments like those you see here. Pathetic.
22 ...the Commission has found the licensee in non-compliance with Mandatory Order 1 and section 8(6) of the Regulations with respect to the submission of logger tapes on two occasions. As well, the licensee was in non-compliance with Mandatory Order 2 and section 9(2) of the Regulations in that it did not file annual returns by the required date. While the licensee has since submitted the requested annual returns, the licensee’s failure to submit self assessment reports and music lists in response to a request by the Commission also represents non-compliance with Mandatory Order 2 and section 9(3) of the Regulations.
24. ... It is evident that Harmony has been consistently unable to comply with the Regulations and the mandatory orders.
28... Harmony still has not adequately addressed the Commission’s concern expressed in Decision 2007-37 that the board of directors "made a decision to operate the station as a commercial operation …."
30...Given the long and wilful history of non-compliance by this licensee, its misunderstanding of the Campus Radio Policy and the nature of its licence and the fact that the station has been off the air for a considerable time, the Commission is of the view that revocation is the only appropriate measure in this case.
31... Accordingly the Commission revokes the broadcasting licence held by Harmony Broadcasting Corporation for CJWV-FM, Winnipeg.
In light of the decision to revoke, there is no need to deal with issues related to a change in effective control of the undertaking.
I know so many people who went to school , if you can call it that , at ABC , and none of them ended up anywhere. Take the course at Red River. In my opinion those private vocational schools are nothing but a joke. Go to U of M or U of W or Red River if you want a real job.
