Skateboards have wheels. Many people who own skateboards use them to move quickly from one place to another, so even in we-don't-walk-anywhere Winnipeg, boarders are far less concerned about getting somewhere a few blocks away without the use of a gas-powered vehicle as many other people are.

Hope they don't smoke and sell dope out of the business. It will move all the residents up-top out and quick.

That's a really good location for a skate shop. Even without RRC it would be a good spot. If you're going to open up a place in the exchange it should be geared towards that crowd. It's a nice building, hope the business does well. Wonder what they will put under Fairchild.

Why is it a good spot? From a business perspective.

Because it already contains businesses that cater the the same clients (Mondragon, The Albert (if they keep playing shows), Cinemateque, Folk Fest Music Store, Into the Music, the other pile of used book and antique stores that sell vinyl, the galleries, Wild Planet is only a few minutes away). It's also centrally located and very easy to get to by bus, close to the forks skate park, and close to U of W. That's not including it being a block from RRC. They don't need to draw people to the area because the people are already there.

I'll be more specific, since a skateboard shop wouldn't compete with the Walmarts of the world.
Give me an example of a boutique/small scale retail store....like ones you'd find in the Exchange/Osborne/Academy/etc.

Really? Everyone Dean? Would all church-going-deeply religious folk go there? (You did use the word all)

And MLCC is not small scale. A wine store would be moreso.
