<blockquote><cite>Posted By: InTheKnow</cite>its like one of those cursed buildings anything that goes in there fails :(</blockquote> Yeah, seems like it. They always try to be the super-cool place. Those tend to have the shortest shelf life. Is it more restaurantey or is it just the same club just named after a food this time around ?called

    Senhor Christian

    Its call don pedros

Bartly kives in saturdays FPress nailed it on the head with stereotypical mind set of these new club owners in the area. The only thing Bart left out was the multiple owners which is another sure fire way for failure of clubs.

Its a fickle crowd and how many down town club goers do they think want to go down town??

This Don Pedro’s right now is combo of nite club and a restaurantey, kind of like a poor man's Mexican social hall/bar and restaurantey. Best of all to ensure the restaurantey's longevity its owned by a guy who has NO restaurantey experience. The guy has had 2 other very short lived bars in the area, planet x 4 months and the market on market lasted what 1-2 years ?? Once again notice the originality of names planet x from planet Hollywood and market on market, Richards on Richards in vancouver.

Good luck guys "past behavior is always a good indication of future behavior"

Well if no one knows of the place, it doesn't surprise me if it doesn't succeed....especially if people don't know whether it is a restaurant or a bar. People looking for one would likely not go for fear it is the other. (ie. I wouldn't go if it was a bar, but might give it a try if it was a restaurant)

Especially Pink Taco - could be a lesbian bar for all I know !

Whats the big deal, its his money, the guy keeps trying. Having an idea and testing it to its conclusion , even if it fails, is a success. One day he may find the right formula, good for him for TRYING.

The soon-to-be-opened Kay's Deli on William at Hargrave (picture shown on the previous page)... will Winnipeg be seeing the return of the Jewish deli?

the only Jews in that area are guys picking up rent checks or guys to work at their pawn shops on main.

    Thats an offensive comment.

I think rgalston's comment was referring to a "Jewish-style" deli, rather than a deli patronized by "jews'. I'll certainly be trying it out, and I'm not Jewish, nor do I collect rent cheques, or work in a pawn shop on main.

...a "Jewish Deli" has nothing to do with cutting the crusts off the bread btw.
