Yum! The Holy Trinity are really great beers - so glad they're bringing them back.

The Burly is a take it or leave it beer from what I've seen. I didn't care for freshly-opened bottle last year, but I saved a beer for this year to see if my opinion changes.

However, I have a friend who tried it 6 months in and LOVED it. In fact, that is what his xmas present was - 2 bottles of burly.

Looks like business is good - they're hiring!

Help Wanted No kidding, you could be working with us to make great beer in Winnipeg. We're looking for one person to join the team here if:
You're a quick learner,
You're able to lift 50Kg. Kegs,
You have a clean driver's license,
You're generally a happy person with a customer friendly attitude (retail experience is a bonus!),
You're willing to learn new skills like kegging and bottling,
You are clean, clean, clean,
You love great beer BUT...
You're not just a drunk looking for free beer - seriously - who's got time for drinking when there's so much work to be done?

The position is full time days, benefits after 3 months, fun work environment, and certainly not your average day job.

Picked up my bottle of the Father, and the Son...which just came out this weekend. Mmmm.

Also learned from Dave that they'll be switching over to the wee bottles, so hopefully you'll be able to find Half Pints in pubs and restaurants more in the future!

Ah, good. I like the big bottles but, yeah, it did restrict where it could be sold. If they still want to pay for a unique bottle they should try stubbies. The kitch factor alone would be great !

Thanks for the heads up. I was too late for the Father last year.

Just proves the old adage: what goes around, comes around.

And, WTF is a "bottle of the Father, and the Son"

They're Half Pint's Holy Trinity :)

Re: the change in bottles, another micro-brew was switching their bottler and sold it to Dave dirt cheap...good enough of an offer to make them switch. Plus this way the bottles can be recycled (ie. sold back to Fort Gary or other breweries for re-use)...whereas currently they're recycled like the rest of our glass (reused as road base in the landfill).

I think I'm going to prefer the smaller bottle because it makes it easier to drink in one sitting. With the large bottle it had to be one heck of a sitting!

A new beer is coming out...with the greatest name that is perfect for spring in Winnipeg - Pothole Porter! (Coming out Apr 1st, it would be a great beer to celebrate the new 100 Main apartment ;))

This beer is a strong, dark ale brewed using pale, crystal, chocolate and melanoidin malts. It is finished with UK Fuggles hops, aged with French Oak, and cool fermented for a sweet, toasty malt finish.

In the tanks right now, we have a malty mouthful so black and so devastatingly delicious, it could only have been brewed in Winnipeg. The soft, roasty sweet liquid unexpectedly pulls you down into layer upon layer of flavour.

And searching around their webpage I came across this page full of beer recipes!
