Here's a screen shot, Alex. This is just one example, I'm finding the same problem on most pages I open up.[/quote]

Hmmm...or not. Apparently the form doesn't like my attachment. Is there an e-mail address for New Winnipeg that I can send the screen shot to?

Yeah, since Rick Keating setup these forums 16-18 months ago, it's just been riddled with problems. It's too bad, I like the "Vanilla" forum software.. it has potential, but there's simply isn't enough people knowing how to manage/update it.

This is one of the oldest threads on this forum, but it seems the archive of older threads is no longer available. I tried the link, but it was broken. That's too bad, because there were some interesting items there.

The more common forums (vBulletin, phpBB etc...) are better developed and supported by the open source community.

Vanilla seems to still be just one guys pet project and hasn't really caught on at all.

This forum look and feel with the bells and whistles it does have is far more appealing than other forums I've seen, such as eWinnipeg. I much prefer this tool.

This software is the third or fourth incarnation of newwinnipeg.com I think.

With forum software, I find it's always a frustrating balance between end-user usability and admin usability; Vanilla was a big step up from yabb. Yabb was awful, but like all forum software, it had some good advantages. The long-term moderators would know this best. Vanilla has the most from both columns (admin/user) IMO in comparison to other forum software.

It wasn't until last fall that most of the functionality of this site got whacked.
I know it's been incredibly frustrating for everyone.
