Hows the beach this time of year?
White sands a little whiter?
Pretty beautiful thanks for asking. Very quiet -> good for relaxing. Some more snow and it should be even better.
Some of the best cross-country skiing within an hour or two of Winnipeg.

There were no tracks this weekend as there's not enough snow yet (I think there is).

I heard that there's only classical style trails in Grand Beach park? I have only skate skiis and can't afford classical style set at the moment so it kind of sucks if they have only classical tracks there.

How were the drivers after that snowstorm last week?

I've been driving in the snow for a month already, and people still haven't put their "winter driving caps" on yet.

If we slow down, we won't get there as fast!
By there, I mean the next out of synch red light.

From the news about the snow storm in B.C., they interviewed a tow truck driver who commented that all the vehicles in the ditch were 4X4's. I guess they think the laws of physics don't apply to them.

Well... in BC almost all the cars are 4x4s... at least where I was! No way could anyone drive in those mountains in the winter in tiny car.

Unless you're talking about Vancouver, of course.

ok I'm gonna toss in my two cents alright?
People drive like blithering idiots because:
1. they are late for whatever appointment they've made.
2. they got up late for work
3. they believe that they are immortal and have total disregard for the safety and health of everyone else on the roads.
4. they actually have faith that the Almighty will protect them from all accidents and speeding tickets.
5. they REALLY think that their cars will protect them from being killed just like in the auto advertisements on TV.

HOOEY! if the sign says 60 kmh , you goofs, it MEANS 60 kmh!!
NOT 90kmh!!
NOT 75 kmh!
NOT 65 kmh!!!!!!
60, only 60!!
same goes for ALL the other velocity restriction signs out there!!
I have the same issues with other drivers who consistently break the law, any law: I drive at the speed limit, I get sworn at, middle-fingered, honked at, even had one fellow call the police stating that I was slowing traffic down on Kenaston because I refused to exceed the posted limit by even one kmh. The police actually called me and asked what happened: told them that I REFUSE to exceed any and all posted limits, I should not get the ticket, the caller should because he's a prime candidate for Road Rage.
If you are late for your job in the morning, or late for that Oh-so-important, I have to get there appointment? Try to schedule your life a bit better: get up earlier, like half an hour earlier, have that second cup of coffee, get out to the car 15 minutes earlier, be on the road earlier, and STICK TO THE BLOODY LIMIT!! ok ok, I get my personal road rage out on here! Oh YEAH!! try driving like a human being sometime, you will arrive only about 2 minutes later, and without the risks of tickets, heart attacks (yours and the other drivers'), accidents, damages, and potentially jail time?
hmmm interesting concept eh? Driving like a GOOD driver, not a bloody idiot?

Funny you should mention this, as I was just thinking back: There was a study done back in the 80's, can't remember by whom, that came to the conclusion that 15% of all fatal car accidents in North America involved people with those "God is my Co-pilot" bumper stickers.

That's unreal. a) that someone phoned the police because you were obeying the law, and b) that the police actually followed it up with you.

I tend to drive at a speed that I'm comfortable with. Sometimes that's less than the speed limit, sometimes it's more. Fact is, there are stretches of road where the speed limit is simply too low. I will not get mad at another driver for sticking to the artificially low limit, but I will drive an appropriate speed and just keep an eye out for photo radar.

Yeah.. there were a bunch of 90km places that Doer killed as soon as he came in however many years ago that was...many many roads were upped to 100km overnight.

Go slow, go fast, I don't care. All I ask is that if you're driving slow, DON'T DO IT IN THE (LEFT) PASSING LANE.

Winnipeg and Winkler are the two worst cities in Manitoba for straight up retarded drivers. If you cant drive the speed limit under good conditions, you dont deserve to be driving period. I'm talking both unsafely over and under.
