If this goes down between Dec. 21 and Jan. 5, when I'm in town, I'd be down for a pint or two.

Casual Chris, I was under the impression that you moved to BC. Are you here temporarily or did you move back?
2.
I go back and forth (dont tell my new girlfriend), in the last two years I've spent roughly half my time here, have in Victoria/Salt Spring Island.

No but I did see Robin Williams, funny actually. (saw him a few times, one humourous time, not from him surprisingly) Alot of the people on SSI are EXTREMELY SNOBISH, very upper class, and I was in the newpaper/magazine store and the owner literally told him to either buy the magazine he was flipping through or leave because if he continued to stand there and flip through it, it would be unsaleable. Robin dropped it on the ground and walked out. I laughed because he could probably sell it BECAUSE Robin Williams had flipped through it.

Lots of names have places on SSI, the name escapes me, but the guy who did Radar from MASH had a place there till he died recently.

But I prefer living in Victoria to SSI.

Aah, Victoria, Winnipeg-by-the-sea. It seems all of the friends I have from Winnipeg who moved to Vancouver, eventually hop scotched over to Victoria.

Well, since there are two former Winnipeggers who'd like to join in on the revels, let's choose between Tuesday, December 26th to Saturday, December 30th.

Please note with which dates you cannot make it.

Also, please note with any dietary restrictions and restaurant/pub choices. I'm guessing we only want to go somewhere licensed?

Restaurants we've brought up so far (I'm being indiscriminate!):

Yale Hotel
McLaren Hotel
Tomi-Tola's
The Toad in the Hole
King's Head Pub (we'll need members or enough people to make a non-member reservation)
A Vietnamese restaurant...I'm sorry I can't remember!

The 28th is my husbands birthday, and I'd rather take him to some nice romantic restaurant - so preferably not the 28th. But if it must be that date we can go for supper early then head out to the pub with you guys.

Maybe we can all meet at Earls on Main??? I like the lounge. Or a lounge on Corydon would be nice.

Evite is a great way to organize a party; all you need are the email addresses of the guests, and then everyone can see who's coming, get email reminders, etc.

Puravida, are you offering to be the party planner? Really if we're just going for food/drinks, all we need is someone to make a reservation. And I'll bring ice packs and crutches for after dinner.

Well, just trying to choose a date. I don't want a label or anything. If this turns into something that requires party planning or organizers, not sure I want to do that!

If we could make it the 25th, that would be super!

Any reason to get out of family dinner, ANY reason!

(laughs) And miss the supper, no way! I guess it's different because I don't have Christmas supper with my family. I spend it with my boyfriend's family. That and New Year's.

The 24th, 25th or even 26th is no good for me. Anytime after that works! :)
